hospital
For those of you who haven't heard, I spent the weekend in the hospital. I had a small case of angina. Apparently, my heart wasn't getting enough oxygen. Everything is fine now, but I got a different view on life by spending some time around some older people. I was in the Cardiac Unit, which, as you would expect, is not full of young bucks like myself. These patients were all in bad shape because of a long life of abuse to their bodies. I have apparently done quite a bit of damage to the old ticker by drinking and smoking as much as I have.
Ready for the irony? I had just made a New Year's resolution to take better care of my body. A resolution I have actually kept thus far. I have been working out everyday at Fles 24/7. I quit smoking and I only drink one night per week. Now, I'll admit, that one night a week meets with a lot of booze, but I think it's a step in the right direction. So after three weeks of healthy living, that's when my body gives up. I think it went into some sort of panic because it wasn't receiving it's usual dose of vices and stress.
Anyway, lesson learned. I guess everything is truely better in moderation. You can't drink every night. And if you do, stopping can be hell on your body. You can't go from not working out at all, to working out for 2 hours everyday. (We were doing the workout the actors from the movie 300 did. It's hell!) Somewhere in the middle is the healthy balance I strive for. Until then, I plan on staying out of Cardiac Units and hospitals all together.
PS - Covenant has a beautiful phlebotomist named Kristen. If she is reading this, I just wanna say Hi. I knew the doctors must not have been too worried about my heart because they let such a gorgeous girl in my room. :)

Jeopardy Test
Well, I just finished my online test for Jeopardy. It was pretty rough. I studied all of the arbitrary trivia I could find today, but it may not have been enough. I think I got a good amount right, maybe half. Let's hope that's enough to qualify for the next round. If it is, they will be calling me to audition in Dallas anytime now. We'll see!
